Campaign Overview

Dear Christ Community Family,

During this time of change and transition at Christ Community, one thing remains constant…our calling to transform people into committed followers of Jesus Christ through love, acceptance, and forgiveness. We are a place where transformation and growth through Christ marks the lives of our members so profoundly, that the community around us is continually experiencing Jesus in tangible ways through our love and service.

The second phase of the capital campaign, Building to Serve, is about the ministries that make us such a place. Physically, we are building a large multi-purpose building with classrooms, offices, large meeting rooms and a gymnasium/auditorium. But that beautiful new building is first and foremost a tool we will all use (together) to join God in His kingdom work…serving Him and serving others.

We are Building to Serve the community of believers and the community around us:

* Desperately needed meeting space will provide new adult discipleship opportunities for small and large groups, preparing the body of Christ to do the ministry of His church.

* New offices, replacing the badly worn modular buildings, will allow staff and volunteers to more effectively manage the growing ministries here at Christ Community.

* The new youth lounge, meeting rooms, and multi-purpose areas will offer an intimate and inviting space for Junior High and High School youth to come to experience Christ; deepening their relationship with Him and each other through worship, small groups, empowering messages, and community oriented youth events.

* Young children, who are all about play and motion, will finally have a large indoor space with high ceilings for group games, special events, and large gatherings. Christ-centered teaching goes hand in hand with events that engage kids through activity and play. The kids of Christ Community will have a place to invite their friends on campus for events that are currently unrealistic due to space constraints.

* Knowing that sharing our faith often begins with relationships; the new multi-purpose space will house theatrical productions, concerts, and sports events, all designed to allow members of our church family, young and old, to share common experiences and build relationships with members of the surrounding community.

* Meeting space in the new building will also be made available to local groups and public entities such as the San Juan Unified School District, allowing Christ Community to help meet community needs in practical ways.

As a staff, we continually thank God for the opportunity to worship, minister, live and serve along side all of you. We encourage you to join us in earnest prayer over this entire process and challenge you to engage with God, asking Him what role He wants you to play in Building to Serve. When His vision becomes our passion, individually and as a church body, there is no limit to what He will do and accomplish through us, and there is no greater cause to which we can commit ourselves! Pray for a holy passion, and together, let’s gladly commit whatever portion of our time, talent, and treasure God leads us to give!

Building to Serve with You,
