Celebrating a Community Victory: 350 Backpacks Collected for Homeless Youth
Did you know that thousands of homeless youth in our area face challenges beyond what many of us can imagine? One of the simplest yet most critical necessities they struggle to obtain is basic school supplies. Recognizing this need, Christ Community Church has proudly partnered with Carmichael HART and the San Juan School District for our annual Backpack Drive, a cherished summer tradition dedicated to supporting these young students.
Our goal was ambitious yet heartfelt: to fill over 200 backpacks with essential school supplies, providing tools these children need to thrive in their education. Thanks to the generous hearts and hands of our congregation and community partners, we have not only met but surpassed this goal—collecting an inspiring total of 350 backpacks!
Throughout July, members of the church and wider community donated notebooks, pens, folders, calculators, and many other supplies. Each item represented hope and opportunity for a child who deserves every chance to succeed.
In August, our leadership team will personally deliver these backpacks to the San Juan School District, ensuring that they reach the hands of those who need them most.
This achievement is a testament to what can happen when a community comes together to act with compassion and purpose. Thank you to everyone who contributed time, supplies, and encouragement. Because of your generosity, hundreds of homeless youth will start their school year empowered and prepared.
Let us continue to stand as a beacon of hope and support for our neighbors in need, living out our faith through meaningful service and love. Here’s to many more years of partnership and positively impacting lives together!
