Saved People. Serve People.
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4:10-11
Church happens because saved people serve people.
At Christ Community, service isn’t an optional extra or a program tucked into the calendar; it is the lifeblood of who we are. When people who have experienced God’s grace step forward to serve others, the gospel moves from words into real life. Buildings are cared for, ministries thrive, the hurting find comfort, children learn about Jesus, and neighbors see Christ reflected in tangible ways. Service turns a gathering into a community.
Why serving matters
It obeys Jesus’ example. Christ came to serve, and when we serve others we follow his model and reflect his heart.
It builds the body. Every gift and task—big or small—strengthens the whole church. When people plug in, ministries are more effective and resilient.
It equips disciples. Serving grows maturity, reveals spiritual gifts, and deepens our dependence on God.
It reaches others. Acts of service meet real needs and open doors for the gospel to be heard and seen.
Who serves at Christ Community We have an incredible group of volunteers who take this call seriously: teachers, worship leaders, hospitality teams, tech teams, children's ministry workers, outreach teams, care volunteers, facility stewards, prayer teams, and more. Their commitment creates an environment where people can meet Jesus and grow in faith.
An invitation to everyone No matter your age, background, or experience level, you have something to offer. Service is not reserved for the gifted few; it’s a calling for all who have been saved by grace. If you’ve been hesitant—wondering whether you’re qualified, whether you’ll have time, or what you could possibly contribute—start where you are. We’ll help you find a place that fits your gifts, schedule, and pace.
