Month of prayer
This October, we’re inviting everyone at Christ Community to join us for a Month of Prayer as we seek God together. Prayer is a vital part of what it means to be the gathered church of Jesus Christ, and throughout the month we want to create space to slow down, listen, pray, and grow in our dependence on God. Whether prayer has been part of your life for years or you’re still learning how to pray, there is a place for you.
We’ll begin together at our Prayer & Worship Night on Wednesday, September 30, from 6:00–7:00pm in the MP Room. Then, throughout October, there will be many ways to participate. Sign up for a time during 24/7 Prayer, take a Holy Here Prayer Walk through your neighborhood, workplace, school, or community, visit the Prayer Walls in the lobby, or walk our campus and stop at guided prayer stations. Each opportunity is a simple invitation to seek God’s presence and pray for our church, our community, and the places where God has called us to live and serve.
We also invite you to use the 31-Day Prayer Devotional to build a daily rhythm of prayer throughout the month. Each day includes Scripture and guided prayer prompts, along with simple ways for families and kids to pray together. Throughout October, our staff, elders, and deacons will also lead Prayer Moments at different times and locations, creating opportunities to gather with others, pray together, and encourage one another.
How will you join us? Choose a prayer time. Take a prayer walk. Pick up a devotional. Bring your family. Join a Prayer Moment. Our hope is that October would be more than a Month of Prayer—that God would deepen our dependence on Him and establish lasting rhythms of prayer as we follow Jesus together.
